"What a feeling to be "in love" with a song! I love all of my songs and I am excited to share them with others as I have spent time conceiving, creating and nurturing them to fruition."

Still is a collection of thirteen songs, all written by Nisha Parekh. They are stories of people and places, of journeys, of love and loss and faithful friends. Nisha combines her love of words and "characters" with rich, memorable harmonies, all against the backdrop of her warm and passionate voice.

"A Girl and Her Guitar" was the original focus of this album, recorded at Sound of One Hand in Ottawa, Ontario. As the project progressed and evolved, it soon took different turns, with a number of talented musicians lending a hand on ten of the thirteen songs on the album.

"The journey of Still has been an incredibly enriching process for me. Creating my own music and sharing it with others has been both exhilarating and humbling and I am truly grateful for the people I have met since Still's conception".

Still was engineered by Michel Legault in Ottawa, Ontario. It was co-produced by Jeff Hagerman, Michel Legault and Nisha Parekh.

Musicians who contributed to Still include:

Jeff Hagerman: Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar
Stuart Watkins: Bass (and Tambourine!)

Chris Barkley: Dobro

The Songs of Still are:
The Princess and the Rogue
What happens when two people from different worlds meet on a street corner?
Heirlooms
A year after my Mom passed away from cancer I went through her closet. This song is about that process and how it turned into a wonderful Journey.
It
"It" represents all of those intangible challenges such as addiction or depression which can fester within relationships.
Me and My Horse
Boys have come and gone, but horses will always be in my 'paddock!'.
Sesame Street
A glimpse at the residents of a low-income housing project. I have met all of these characters through my work and I have a deep respect for what some of them must contend with every day.
Bon Appetit
Won't you come in, out of the rain? An evolution of sorts from offerings of coffee to a five course meal and everything in between.
Simple Love
Wouldn't it be easy if love were simple? A sweet, melodic song that asks its listener to consider a simple love.
Dear Kandahar
I hope for peace in this region of the world. Peace for the children who have been born into a war they never asked for, peace for the native residents, peace for the soldiers dispatched from their own families. The grace you hear at the beginning and end of the song is done by my Dad. It is a simple message asking for above all, Shanti.
Still (Love song from an Angel)
A song dedicated to my Dad from my Mom.
Poke Her Game
When a smooth, married with children detective makes moves on an unbeknownst woman, how does she respond?
Angeline
I see Angeline almost every day although I have never met her. At first she saddened me and I wondered where she came from and where she was going. She walks all day - in rain, snow, cold and heat. Now I believe she is content and her endless trek provides a purpose to her days.
These Holes
A personal reflection written in darker times.
Faithful Friends
I am blessed with a tourniquet of "good for the soul" friends. This colourful bouquet is just what I need!
